The one day course covers the complexities of the industry, the requirements for successfully streamlining the production process, the importance of doing things once and getting things right first time and how to talk to printers using their terminology.

It also covers the time pressures encountered in the production process and how best to get their product through the production process.

The course will outline the graphic arts industry in New Zealand and all the major printing processes available from letterpress to screen printing and digital from pre-press to finishing and some of the machinery involved.

PrintNZ is targeting new entrants to the industry or those needing an update on current industry practices, and says the course is ideal for print buyers (commercial or government), advertising agencies, printers, Diploma in Print Management students, "or anybody interested in getting the most out of print production."

Three of the one-day events will be held in Auckland and Wellington in September.
