Durst has captured two European Digital Press Association (EDP) awards with its board and textile printers.
Matt Ashman, managing director Durst Oceania, says the wins recognise the continuous development of the modular platform.
The Durst P5 350 HS roll and board hybrid printer won the the Corrugated Solution category in the Industrial Solutions Print and Finishing division. The P5 Tex iSub won the Textile Printer Roll-to-Roll with Inline Finishing category.
Ashman says, “These award wins show Durst’s commitment to providing the best solutions. It is an honour that Durst’s hard work in finding these solutions has been recognised by the European Digital Press Association.”
The EDP technical committee commented on the trend towards printing smaller runs of corrugated cardboard on digital presses. It stated, “The high-speed model of the Durst P5 350 fits in well with this trend. At the same time, the design of the printer means that it can also handle other substrates well. This makes it a good starting point for service print providers who want to expand their market towards packaging.
“The Durst P5 Tex iSub is not the only printer with inline finishing for printing directly on top of the textile. The IR inline fixation is very efficient. The new sublifix ink in combination with the in-house developed system makes it possible to maintain the high printing speed and a high print quality when using the inline finisher. This system brings Durst back on the front row if it comes to printing on polyester fabrics.”
Inline sublimation
Durst says the win confirms the P5 Tex iSub as the best roll-to-roll textile printing system with an integrated finishing unit. The abbreviation iSub stands for ‘inline sublimation’ making it suitable for direct printing, eliminating the requirement for calendaring. As a result, it enables significant quality and efficiency improvements. You can also use this printing system for transfer paper printing.
The P5 350 HS hybrid printing system for roll and board media has a printing width of up to 3.5 metres. It offers a print speed of up to 710 square metres per hour. Further, it can change materials quickly with multi-roll and multi-track options. Lastly, it offers Durst Workflow and Durst Analytics software for further productivity enhancements.
