Foodtech Packtech organiser XPO has taken out two international awards at the 2014 EEAA (Exhibition and Events Association of Australasia) Awards for excellence.

The awards came for Best New Show in Australasia and Best NZ Show (consumer and trade) for its Canterbury buildnz | designex show, at a gala event held last night in Melbourne. Brent Spillane, managing director at XPO, says, “The last two years have seen a rapid growth of trade visitors across each and every one of XPO’s event portfolios. This is evidence of a resurging market for trade shows as the importance of this face to face communications medium increases in popularity.”

New Zealand’s largest trade exhibition and event organiser, XPO will soon release an independent economic impact study that it says will evidence the enormous contribution XPO events bring to New Zealand trade, investment, employment, and overall visitor economy.

XPO adds that international recognition alongside the worlds’ largest exhibition and event organisers as a leader in best practice, sends a signal to the industry that Kiwis produce award winning events that sit on a level with the best in the world.

XPO’s portfolio consists of 13 trade show brands including New Zealand Gift and Homeware Fairs, Foodtech Packtech, buildnz | designex, Auckland & Canterbury, Mybiz Expo, The National Safety Show, Materials Handling and Logistics Show (MHL), SouthMACH and the South Island Hospitality Show. XPO were made the finals in the Best Trade Show Under 10,000sqm category.
