Durst will launch a new pure water-based white inkjet ink for its Koening & Bauer Durst Delta SPC corrugated press at drupa 2024 in Düsseldorf in May.
Only available for the Durst SPC 130, the new white ink delivers the combination of best in class opacity, sustainability and the potential to target primary food packaging, setting a new benchmark in the market.
Wolfgang Knotz, managing director for Durst Austria, says, “I’m happy to announce that our new pure water-based white inkjet ink is especially developed for corrugated paper printing. The ink provides best in class opacity thanks to our outstanding knowledge in the formulation of inorganic pigmented inks and our cross-industrial knowledge between ceramic inkjet technology and corrugated printing.
“The combination of high opacity, sustainability and even the possibility to target primary food packaging is unmatched in the market and it’s only available for our Durst SPC 130,” says Knotz.
Knotz invites delegates to the Durst stand at drupa 2024 to see the technology and results for themselves.
Matt Ashman, managing director of Durst Oceania, says, “Durst has a history of being at the forefront of not only hardware technology but also ink technology, our team has surpassed themselves by being the first to launch a water-based white ink option.
“The corrugated market and the packaging category is a big and growing industry and having the ability to do spot white for embellishment and special effects is what our customers have requested and up until now needed to be done flexographically.
“The Durst water based print technology has the Swiss Ordinance and the Nestle Standard for food safety in printed packaging and the addition of white ink does not compromise that standard.
“Importantly, it is also available as an upgrade for our existing install base.
“We look forward to demonstrating this technology as well as several other innovations at drupa in Düsseldorf.”
