Owned by Ed and Hinemoa Boyd who bought the company outright 18 months ago from a partnership of three decades, the couple have embarked on an upgrade to position itself for future growth.
Ed says the Duplo 5000, bought through TS Wilson Jnr Ltd has been brilliant, replacing a lot of staff and a couple of on call part timers called in to hand collate race book periodicals and other work.
"We now use it for all our digital work, our periodicals and we've even used it to collate NCR work which we previously did by hand. It does the job in ten per cent of the time it used to take. We're very, very happy with it. It is a really nice machine."
H & A Design has been in operation since 1923 and has a current staff of 20 including two of the previous partners in the firm. It is about to install a new four-colour press in the Wanganui plant.
