Based in Parnell, the company processes thousands of glossy, customised brochure style booklets each year for Kiwis traveling overseas on escorted bus tours and river cruises around the world.
It is understood its parent company in Australia first saw the machine at PrintEx and after upgrading its Sydney document operation, purchased one for Auckland in good time for the company's traditional peak market – May to July, says New Zealand customer services manager, Ryley Webster.
The machine is one of five which has sold through CPI in recent months and Ryley says it is an ideal piece of equipment for their uses, primarily to produce superior quality documentation in keeping with the company's professional branding.
It is fully adjustable and can take up to 22 pages, stitching, folding and giving a square fold to make the booklet look like it has been perfect bound.
"We'd previously used an older booklet maker and we needed something that produced better quality documents for our clients. Presentation is everything in corporate branding," he says.
