Inkjet printing technology manufacturer Xaar has unveiled its latest solution, the Xaar Irix printhead.
Graham Tweedale, general manager of Xaar’s printhead business unit says, “We are delighted to launch the Xaar Irix as the next printhead from our ImagineX platform.
“The Xaar Irix printhead is designed with the user in mind. It ensures accurate, reliable and easy print for coding and marking; wide format graphics; and additive manufacturing applications. Consequently, it provides efficient, effective and impressive results, time after time.”
Xaar says the ImagineX platform sets the roadmap for Xaar’s bulk inkjet innovations and printhead developments. It adds that the new printhead provides highly accurate ink drop delivery. It combines individually lasered nozzles and Xaar’s AcuDrp technology, which calibrates each nozzle and provide excellent drop placement. In addition, it delivers uniform drop velocity and volume. As a result, it improves image quality at longer print distances. A further benefit is high code recognition for coding and marking applications.
Xaar says its AcuDrp technology makes a wider operating window possible. Firstly, it offers increased reliability and uptime over a range of operating conditions. Second, enhanced factory calibration provides more consistent printing across different images and fluids. Lastly, the Xaar Irix printhead’s simple and robust architecture guarantees reliable printing.
Simple to use and easy to integrate, the Xaar Irix is lightweight and has a compact footprint. The company says this makes it a popular choice for a wide variety of print engine configurations. In addition, its simple fluid and electrical connections make for easy integration, fast start up and straightforward maintenance.
Designed as a non-disposable technology, it has a long life for minimal environmental impact. Therefore, no cartridge replacement is necessary. This helps minimise waste and improve the sustainability credentials for Xaar Irix users.
