Based in Christchurch, the company was founded 10 years ago by Ross who has had nearly half a century of experience in the printing industry.

He initially set up PSA with a raft of agencies for printing industry equipment, but has increasingly moved into machinery sales as an independent broker although still keeps his hand in with Mainland Print Inks for offset consumables and inks, and Cyber NZ acting as an associate for new machinery sales in the South Island.

Ross says that being an independent broker means he can give New Zealand printers a neutral opinion when buying or selling on their behalf because he deals with a wide range of used machinery providers here and overseas.

He has low overheads, running his business from home, and does not keep any stocks of used machinery.

He says Asian printers focus on Heidleberg and Komori with printers looking for good quality or refurbished equipment. "They like New Zealand presses and equipment because it has been well maintained."

New Zealand printers are more interested on presses sourced in Europe where companies upgrade their machinery regularly.
