With less than two weeks until the doors open at the Air Force Museum in Wigram, the NZSDA says preparations continue for what looks like one of its busiest weekends with four events scheduled.
The NZSDA Annual Conference, Sign NZ Expo, Ttrans-Tasman Vehicle Wrap Competition, and  NZSDA Awards will all take place over April 15-16 in Christchurch.
Sign NZ Expo will take place at the Air Force Museum of New Zealand in Wigram, running from 10am to 5pm on the Friday and from 10am to 4pm on the Saturday. he event has enjoyed storing support with platinum sponsor Uniscreen and gold sponsors Total Supply and PSP occupying the stands along with support form many of the 2014 exhibitors including Fuji Xerox, Jenrite, Aarque, and Blue Print Imaging.
Kiwi teams will compete in the vehicle wrap competition for the opportunity to go up against the Australian champions later in the weekend. Industry suppliers have generously responded to the call for support with a prize pool total of almost $40,000. Total Supply has provided first prize: a Mimaki JV400-160LX 7 colour latex printer. For the second prize winner, Jenrite has a Polar 1610 cold roller mounter/laminator ready to go. Sign Supplies will provide the third prize winner with a $2,000 credit account. Fourth prize, a 1524mm wrap kit, comes via 3m. The NZSDA will provide a personalised Health and Safety pack for fifth place.
Ssang Yong will again supply vehicles for the Wrap Competition
Fairchild says SsangYong has offered a virtually unlimited number of Tivoli SUVs for wrapping in art created by award winning designer and sign maker Andy Lowe from Image Creators in Motueka.
Brian Farichild, secretary NZSDA, says running all four events over the same weekend helps to ensure the maximum number of potential visitors. He says, “For suppliers and businesses in the industry, the weekend offers a chance to get together. With everyone in one place, we have ample opportunity to network and work to move things forward. The Sign NZ Expo held in Auckland  2014 was an unqualified success, with all exhibition space sold out. Everyone agreed that the show was well worth the time and energy input.
