Rosello will replace Nachum “Homi” Shamir, president, T&IS, and vice president, Eastman Kodak Company, who will be stepping down at the end of the year. At that time, Shamir will take on a special assignment for GCG, reporting to Langley. Rosello will start his position immediately. Rosello and Shamir will work closely through the end of the year for a seamless transition of the T&IS business.
In January, Rosello will direct Kodak’s full line of high-speed, high-volume continuous inkjet technology designed for applications including transaction printing, mailing, book printing, newspapers and industrial printing, among others; its wide-format inkjet portfolio; Kodak’s document scanning technology; and the company’s business process services operations.
Rosello will be responsible for strategy, R&D, commercialisation, marketing and manufacturing of advanced inkjet and scanning technologies for GCG. The regionally based T&IS sales specialists will report to the respective regional managing directors for GCG.
Rosello, 45, has more than 20 years of executive management experience running global businesses. A native of Spain, Rosello has spent most of his career at Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP), where he pioneered many innovations through a variety of management and research and development assignments. Most recently, Rosello was vice president and general manager of HP’s Indigo Digital Press Division. Prior to that, he was general manager of HP’s Production Copier-Printer operation and led the R&D group that developed the company’s large-format inkjet products. Rosello joined HP in 1988 as an R&D programme and section manager.
“We are pleased that Isidre is joining the GCG team, and we look forward to continued momentum for the T&IS business,” says Langley. “Isidre’s experience in both R&D and line management will help us commercialise Kodak’s innovative technology. I am confident that Isidre will take the T&IS organisation to the next level, with breakthrough products and services that will help our customers enhance their businesses.”
Rosello holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University Politecnica of Catalonia and a Masters of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University. He will be based in Dayton, Ohio.
“Kodak has made some very bold moves in building its Graphic Communications Group, and the company has the products, technology and leadership to help reshape the graphic communications industry,” says Rosello. “I am excited to be joining the GCG team and look forward to contributing to the company’s transformation.”
Shamir joined Kodak in January 2004 as president, Kodak Versamark, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary. Kodak Versamark was formed in January 2004 after the assets of Dayton, Ohio-based Scitex Digital Printing, the world leader in high-speed, variable data inkjet printing systems, were acquired from Scitex Corporation Ltd. Shamir was elected a corporate vice president of Eastman Kodak Company in January 2004 and named president, Transaction & Industrial Solutions, in April 2005.
“Homi has been a valuable contributor to Kodak’s efforts to build the Graphic Communications Group,” says Langley. “Homi and his team have consistently exceeded their revenue and earnings targets since becoming part of Kodak. We thank him for all of his contributions to building the T&IS business and expect his continued contributions to the company in his new assignment.”
Shamir joined Scitex in 1993 as managing director of the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions for Scitex Digital Printing. He was promoted to president and CEO of Scitex Digital Printing, the Dayton, Ohio, subsidiary, in January 2001 and president and CEO of Scitex Corporation in July 2003.
“I take great pride in the joint achievements of Kodak’s Transaction & Industrial Solutions employees and loyal customers. I have every confidence that Isidre will build on the success and will grow the business,” says Shamir. “I will work closely with Isidre to ensure a smooth transition of the T&IS business and am looking forward to my assignment and continued opportunities to help grow Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group business.”
