Californian software-focused private equity firm has acquired Quark Software, once the de facto standard for print subsequently brushed aside when the Adobe juggernaut made its entrance into the market.

Parallax Capital Partners, the new owner, says the move will accelerate the adoption of Quark’s software. Quark believes Adobe’s subscription model is pushing customers back towards Quark’s less expensive one-time fee, and optional upgrades. Recently selected as a Gartner Cool Vendor in Content Services and a 2017 Award finalist for Best Multi-Channel Publishing Platform, Quark says it has emerged as a global leader in content automation.

The company claims its content automation solutions enable organisations to deliver business-critical content to any format and any channel: mobile, print, or web.
