The Get Connected international conference in Sydney is a consolidation of Printing Industries NSW Conference and Business Awards, the LIA’s Printacular Biennial Conference and the Forum of Asian Graphic Arts Technology being hosted for the first time by Australia.
Printing Industries Acting CEO Philip Andersen says it made good sense to stage a combined event.
“The result reinforces the conference’s Get Connected theme illustrating the benefits of consolidation and co-operation,” says Andersen. “The product is a major event that will offer something for everyone in our industry and provide un-paralleled opportunities for the industry to improve its knowledge, networking and business opportunities.”
LIA federal president Angus Scott ensures all of the traditional activities of LIA conferences will be maintained with the only major difference being the broader environment and focussed exposure, which benefits all.
“Our technical program, strongly supported by a significant grant from the Collie Print Trust will be showcased and supported by a wider business program and international knowledge exchange. This can only benefit the industry and should serve to demonstrate the importance of industry liaison and co-operation,” says Scott.
The conference, held at the Shangri La Hotel, Sydney, November 16 – 19, will feature plenary sessions with speakers from Australia, Asia and the USA, an international forum, streamed Business Booster management and technology sessions, country presentations from Australia, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
Activities also include a major golf tournament, Sydney Harbour Karaoke cruise and conference dinner. The dinner will include the LIA Graduate of the Year Awards and NSW Business Awards.
