With an average 14% visitor increase recorded over both the Sunday June 11 and Tuesday June 13, the event would have easily surpassed the 4347 attendance recorded in 2002 had it not been for the disruption from the Auckland power outage on the Monday, says Printech 2006 sales manager, Irene Smith

The outage meant that overall attendance finished about a quarter down on the last show’s attendance figures.

The breakdown in figures show 25.4% of visitors were commercial printers, 28% owners/proprietors/partners and 14.1% directors.

There were 73 overseas visitors from Australia, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Hong Kong, New Caledonia, Western Samoa, Tonga and the United Kingdom. The main reason for all visitors attending was to see and compare new products (67.8%), to source new suppliers (22.6%), to assess whether to exhibit at Printech 2010 (3.5%) and to place an order (2.7% ).

The main product interest areas were digital printing (5.3%), computer graphics (10.2%), design equipment (6.1%), copying equipment (5.6%) and desktop publishing (4.8%).
