Sponsors have gotten in behind the upcoming People in Print and Rising Star Awards.
Computaleta, Currie Group, Cyber, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Nekkorb Solutions, Starleaton, and Wholesale Print have stepped up to support the awards, which will culminate on December 1 with an event taking place at Sorrento in the Park in Auckland.
Last month, New Zealand Printer Magazine, in association with PrintNZ, called for nominations for the inaugural People in Print Awards and the Rising Star Awards. Nominations close at midnight November 20 and are welcomed from across the print, packaging and signage sectors.
Industry members can nominate someone in the industry for achieving excellence, over the past 12 months, in a number of areas that include their work in a particular field of the industry, such as prepress, offset, digital, finishing, design etc; their service to and work in the community; their contribution to sustainability and the environment; or in any other area -that they see as relevant.

Computaleta, which supplies solutions to the signage industry, came on board early in the development of the awards and has been joined by offset supplier Cyber; plate and CTP manufacturer Kodak; labels and packaging solutions supplier Nekkorb Solutions; digital print giant Konica Minolta; wide format solutions supplier Starleaton, and the country’s largest trade printer, Wholesale Print.
Brian Moore, New Zealand Printer Magazine publisher says, “We are proud to have the backing of these industry suppliers and we look forward to their involvement in the awards.”
“A number of suppliers are expected to sign up in support of the awards next week and I welcome enquiries from other potential sponsors. It’s not too late to get on board and apart from celebrating our industry and those who work in it, the awards are a very positive way to end an otherwise challenging year.”
Nominations
Those nominating will be asked to describe the recent achievements +of their nominee, both personal and professional; their contributions to the industry; innovations; application of the craft and overall leadership where applicable.
Individuals may nominate themselves or a peer, and nominations are welcome from suppliers.
Neither of the awards have a minimum or maximum number of finalists and winners.
New Zealand Printer will contact each nominee to discuss their nomination and entries will only proceed to the next round of judging if the nomination is accepted.
Once the nomination is accepted, the organisers will need a photograph (head shot) of the nominee for the nomination to be officially recognised. Winners will not be ranked and will be announced in alphabetical order.
On December 2, New Zealand Printer and PrintNZ will host an awards evening at Sorrento in the Park in Auckland to present the awards and to celebrate the winners with family and friends.
Winners and their profiles will be published in the December edition of New Zealand Printer magazine.
