Helmut Eifert, vice president of Pantone Europe, says the company began collaborating with Microsoft early in the Windows Vista development process to ensure the timely release of Windows Vista-compatible Huey software.

“With this upgrade, we are demonstrating our continuing commitment to our Windows customers by ensuring they are able to take advantage of the latest Windows operating system.”

“Furthermore, Windows Vista is expected to be embraced by the creative community and we want to be the first to support creative professionals adopting Windows Vista.’ Developed in partnership with X-Rite and marketed by Pantone.”

Huey is based on professional-level technology but is delivered in what Pantone described as an easy-to-use, affordable device about the size of a small marker.

Huey delivers its results on LCD, laptop and CRT displays without requiring users to have any knowledge of colour management. It is the first monitor calibration device to continually adjust the monitor as room lighting changes.

Pantone claims that Huey can calibrate a user’s monitor and adjust it based on his or her primary viewing activity in less than five minutes.

The Huey software version 1.0.5 update for Windows Vista operating system is available immediately for download, free-of-charge from Pantone.

Brad Goldberg, general manager for Windows at Microsoft Corporation says Windows Vista and the 2007 Office system will create a platform for the next generation of user experiences.
