The PacPrint Forum Series will return to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre during PacPrint in a few months.
Visual Connections organises the event and co-hosts it with Australia’s Print & Visual Communications Association. Sarah Moore, business development manager at Visual connections, expects a varied programme of sessions.
She says, “We are trying to strike a good balance between keynotes and panel sessions, and more general topics. These include leadership, sales, management, diversification, future planning, small business and mental health. In addition, we will see more sector-specific sessions on everything from signage and building codes, to sustainability, to disaster recovery.”
Charles Watson, general manager for IR, policy, and governance at TRMC kicks off the series on June 28. Moore says, “Charles is well known for his practical and commercially driven solutions and strategies. Visitors will benefit from his expertise and experience as he discusses employment issues. These include contracts, awards, compliance, casual employment and how to avoid common pitfalls. He can also address specific issues of relevance to New Zealand businesses.”
Man Anchor founder Stephen Gamble’s presentation is called ‘Mental Health – Learning the Skills to Make a Difference’. This session offers information for all business owners committed to the wellbeing of themselves and their teams. He will host this session on two days of the show.
Richard Rasmussen, founder and director of professional services company Ascent Partners also talks at the forum. Moore says, “Richard is a 40-year veteran of the industry. His presentation covers important strategies including business valuations, acquisitions, sales and mergers, and exit strategies. These are vital options for business owners to consider as they plan their future.”
Panel sessions as well
‘Secrets of Success’ is a panel session where a group of industry leaders will share their wisdom, insights and experience, along with some stories about the lessons they’ve learned.”
Sales Coach Greg Donlan will run a session called ‘Unlock the Mystery of Sales’. Moore says, “Greg is a dynamic and engaging presenter who has the ability to look at sales in a quite revolutionary way. At PacPrint, he’ll explain how you can turn sales from an unexplainable art to a repeatable and scaleable scientific system. He will give attendees some tangible actions they can implement immediately.”
Rowena Curlewis, chief executive of drinks design specialist Denomination, will address sustainability in drinks. She will explain how innovation drives progress in this space.
A panel session on Future Trends and Initiatives features a discussion between industry experts. They will cover the industry’s direction; what will influence the future; and how to equip your business for success. Moore adds, “Another panel session on the art of colour management will provide valuable strategies for achieving the best colour targets in a digital print environment, and provide some practical tips and tricks to deal with colour variation.”
PacPrint organisers will confirm several more sessions for the programme soon.
Moore says, “Most importantly, these sessions create important context for businesses. They will explore the technologies, innovations and services presented by leading industry suppliers on the floor of the exhibition. Furthermore, PacPrint in a few months will provide much-needed information, ideas and insights to help build business success.”
The PacPrint Forum Series will run daily at PacPrint. The show co-locates with Visual Impact Melbourne and the Label & Packaging Expo. They will run from 28 June to July 1, this year at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
