Registrations have opened for the 2019 AIP National Technical Forum, which takes place in Sydney later this month, along with the Australasian Packaging and Innovation Design Awards gala dinner.
The Australian Institute of Packaging says it will host three significant educational events at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney on April 30 with the option to attend all or just one of the events.
Around 20 speakers will address the audience in the National Technical Forum, including representatives from Nestle, TetraPak, McCormick, SPC, Campbell Arnott’s, Lion, Delicious Food Australia and Arthritis Australia, to discuss the latest in packaging technologies and opportunities for the future.
AIP executive director Nerida Kelton says, “The action-packed and informative educational events are a fantastic opportunity to network with a wide range of like-minded packaging professionals and learn along the way.”
The National Technical Forum, the main event of the day, runs every two years and has now operated for over two decades. It brings together packaging technologists, designers, sales and marketing professionals from all industries to better understand the technical side of packaging design.
Kelton says, “The 2019 AIP National Technical Forum will showcase best-practice and award-winning Save Food and Sustainable Packaging Designs, innovative on-pack communications and packaging across food, beverage, pharmaceutical and domestic household.”
Other events for the day include a women in packaging breakfast forum, which has as its keynote speaker Nikki Moeschinger, managing director of BrandOpus. A discussion panel will follow featuring women in the packaging industry.
A gala dinner rounds out the day for the 2019 Australasian Packaging Innovation and Design Awards which recognise companies and individuals who are making a significant difference in their field and the exclusive entry point for Australia and New Zealand for the WorldStar Packaging Awards.
The PIDA awards are coordinated by the AIP and Packaging New Zealand.
