Océ is one of the first media manufacturers to support the HP Designjet 9000s Series printers by creating and providing free profiles for Océ solvent media. Profiles are available for nine Oce solvent media including Solvent Photopaper, Economical Adhesive Backed Vinyl, Outdoor Poster Paper and Scrim Banner Double Sided with Blockout.

Additional profiles for the entire range of Océ solvent media will be added when ready.

Meanwhile Oce chief executive Rokus van Iperen has made his ambitions for growth plain, revealing more than 20 new products at Ipex including a new production speed graphics printer, the expanded colour range for its wide format printers, a super-speedy continuous feed system and the VarioPrint 6250, which the company claims is the world’s fastest duplex printer.

This kind of innovation is just the beginning, according to van Iperen. He plans to allot more than $260 million to Océ’s research and development budget for 2006.

He told attendees that innovation is key in a printer market that is increasingly maturing. Imaging companies must offer more than just hardware and supplies to make money; they have to offer specialized services and technology, he said.

Netherlands-based Oce is one of the few companies with capability to research and develop media formulations for new printers and new applications which are manufactured in its own facilities in the Netherlands, the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Romania.

It is also a leading provider of digital document management technology and services. The company’s solutions are based on Oce’s advanced software applications that deliver documents and data over internal networks and the Internet to printing devices and archives — locally and around the world. Supporting the workflow solutions are Oce digital printers and scanners

The company has a workforce of around 24,000 people and pro forma annualized revenues of nearly US$3.7bn.
