Two swissQprint products have received an EDP Award: the large format printer Nyala 2 in the 4×4 version and Rob, the loading/unloading robot.

The EDP Awards honour innovations in various categories every year. The best solutions in robotics category went to Rob the loading and unloading robot has won in this category. The Jury says, “Robots are not really new in the graphic arts industry. But the swissQprint Rob brings this technology for the first time close to large format printers and automates the process. Moreover, it is an integrated process: the printer output software also controls the robot.”
The best flatbed/hybrid printers up to 250sqm/hr category went to Nyala 2 in the 4×4 version. The Jury says, “The print samples in big size show a dramatic increase of quality in production mode. Thanks to higher density it also extends the colour gamut.”
Candidates for EDP Awards include products such as software, digital printing devices, post press solutions and consumables. Evaluation criteria include quality, user friendliness, and low production costs. This year. out of more than 150 entries, EDP made 31 awards.
