The Nipson VaryPress was first launched in 1991 and has since sold to end-users serving markets such as forms, book on demand, print-on-demand, security, label, direct mail, and transactional markets.

Magnetography and non-heat flash toner fusing are the core driving technologies for the digital printing system and give Nipson users the capacity to print variable data in high volumes on a wide range of substrates.

Today, the VaryPress 400 runs at a top speed of 125 meters per minute (415 ft/m) and has 600 dpi output, providing excellent print quality. Since this model was introduced in 2004, it has driven strong growth in the high-end market for Nipson.

“The success of today’s high-end VaryPress solutions is built over 20 years of investment in technological development,” says Alfons Buts, managing director of Nipson Digital Printing Systems PLC. “With magnetography and non-heat flash toner fusing as core technologies, reliability, flexibility, and productivity are the cornerstones of the VaryPress success.”

The tension-web high end Nipson VaryPress range was designed with a unique combination of speed and flexibility allowing it to be integrated into a wide range of finishing, labeling and printing equipment. This has proved to be an ideal solution for industries such as forms, direct mail, publishing, security, transactional, and labelling, says Buts.

“From the very beginning, VaryPress systems have been integrated with labeling equipment, finishing systems, and high speed flexographic and offset printing presses. This is a growing trend allowing users to increase productivity and reduce costs.”

In the next model up, due for release next year, Nipson will increase speeds for its high-end tension-web VaryPress to 150 meters per minute (500 ft/min). Commercial shipments of the new model, the VaryPress 500, will begin early next year. Upgrade kits for current VaryPress 400 units will be available after the new model is introduced.
