Hamilton has more than 20 years experience in the paper industry, having held positions at Fletcher Challenge, Malaysian Newsprint Industries, and PanAsia Paper before arriving at Norske Skog in 2006. For the past two years, his responsibilities have included a global program to optimise production at Norske Skog’ s mills worldwide.

Christian Rynning-Tønnesen, CEO Norske Skog, says, “Terry Hamilton knows the company and the industry well. He is very competent and always shows impressive commitment in his work.”

Hamilton replaces Vidar Lerstad, who will continue to be responsible for Norske Skog’s activities in South America. In addition to this appointment Peter Chrisp, formerly senior vice president for business improvement, has been appointed as regional president resident in Sydney. The company expects this will complement Hamilton’s appointment and strengthen its business in Australia and New Zealand.
