The automatic Strapex SMG 10 combines ease of operation with low maintenance and ownership costs and soft tension to avoid any damage to fragile loads being strapped.

Capable of operating round the clock and at up to 70 cycles per minute, the SMG 10 is an arch strapping system which can accommodate loads of up to 650mm x 500 mm. Tensions of up to 300N are achievable, adjusted by a simple +/- button.

The machine is robust yet lightweight and fully mobile, with adjustable working height, and uses 5mm or 6mm polypropylene strap – also available from Strapex – which is heat sealed. Strap threading and strap end detection and ejection are fully automatic and the strap dispenser is integrated in the machine.

Operation is via a simple integrated digital control panel or ergonomic foot pedal to suit the operator’s preference.

The machine has been designed to feature the lowest possible number of moving parts allowing simple and tool-free trouble-shooting, with a novel re-feed function to minimise downtime, while a slide-out dispenser allows rapid and easy strap coil change.

It is versatile enough to cope with bundles of books or magazines, plastic or cardboard boxes, loose bundles, corrugated board, and even newspapers.

Scott MacPherson, UK Sales Manager for Strapex, says: “The SMG 10 draws on our company’s significant experience as a partner to leading players in the print and appear industries in the provision of fast, efficient strapping systems which secure the product without any damage.

“This is a highly versatile and robust machine, which is not only easy to use but has been designed to reduce downtime to an absolute minimum while delivering consistent, high quality strapping.”

Strapex is one of the world’s leading suppliers of end of line strapping and stretchwrapping equipment to the print and paper industry.
