Mimaki has launched a new 3.2m roll-to-roll inkjet printer, the UJV55-320, calling it the ideal solution for printers specialising in window graphics, and backlit day and night signs, with added LED UV ink technology and LED lightbox features.

The company says the new printer uses instant-curing LED UV ink, which it promises to produce graphics that exit the printer dry, resulting in reduced production cycle times. Mimaki’s white ink is considered to be especially suitable for producing window graphics, and backlit day and night signs.

With an additional post-print LED lightbox, Mimaki says this allows operators to check the printing quality of backlit signage during its production run, giving a preview of its installed look and reducing waste and time.

Mimaki says the new printer is capable of delivering speeds of up to 110 sqm per hour with print resolutions of up to 1200dpi. The UJV55-320 has a seven colour inkset with white and light cyan which you can configure in a four- colour mode or six- colour set.
