The paper company put out the challenge to its own clients and a number of men took it up, raising hundreds of dollars in the process.

The courageous group braved the inevitable interim comments of partners, colleagues and friends to emerge with a handsome selection of moustaches, all to help combat prostate cancer.

The growing period expired just before Christmas and winners were chosen in four “specialist” categories with the help of Barry Young, president of the Prostate Foundation of New Zealand.

They were:

Overall Winner – Jeff Batley – Sentra Print,
Best Sports MO – Clint McGrath – Brebner Print
Best 80’s MO – Darron White – BJBall Papers
Best Porn Star MO – Zepher Brown – Image Centre
Weakest Effort – David Bowkett – BJBall Papers.

Contest organiser Craig Gillingham of BJBall Papers says it was an encouraging start to the campaign and “it’s bound to be bigger and better next year as the word spreads.”
