Outgoing Heidelberg chief executive Dr Ludwin Monz has officially welcomed his successor Jürgen Otto as the company’s new head at drupa 2024.
Monz announced his resignation last month, adding he would step down from his position as chairman of the management board at his own request and in agreement with the supervisory board. He said, “This year’s drupa is very special for me personally because it marks the highlight of my time with Heidelberg.”
Otto brings decades of experience in the sustainable orientation of large industrial companies, complemented by experience in the field of turnaround management in the recent years. He said, “Heidelberg has an impressive global footprint, and I would say an almost unique network of sales and service.
“We of course see challenges, but as market leader its easier to turn these challenges into opportunities. I’m very proud that I have the chance to lead this team, with Tania von der Goltz as chief financial officer and Dr David Schmedding as chief sales and service officer.”
Earlier this month, Heidelberg released its preliminary figures for the past financial year 2023/2024, reporting solid results despite challenging economic and geopolitical conditions as well as cost pressure on materials, energy and personnel.
