Fairfax Media has sold its foodie magazine Cuisine in a management buyout.
The magazine’s editor Kelli Brett and its advertising manager Vanessa Stranan have paid an undisclosed sum for the publication. Sinead Boucher, chief executive at Fairfax, said that Fairfax would provide advertising and production support to ensure the next edition of Cuisine appeared with no impact to readers and advertisers.
She said the magazine had, “maintained its legendary high production standards and commitment to excellence in its coverage of New Zealand food and wine, and continues to command widespread respect as the preferred read for serious foodies across the country.”
Now over 30 years old, Cuisine established the Good Food Awards programme and event to recognise the country’s top restaurants, which Fairfax has included in the sale. Brett became editor in 2015
