The company says the new machines not only feature many of the same features and functions as the previous model, they also offer higher functionality, improved modularity and innovations designed to make them more productive, durable, reliable and higher in output quality.
Paul Thomas, national manager production printing at Konica Minolta, says, “In every sense, our bizhub PRO 1200 series stands for a new value in production printing. With this single system we have succeeded in combining all of the success factors that lay the groundwork for sustainable economic activities, such as reliability, speed, efficiency, flexibility and productivity. Standing out of the crowd, the bizhub PRO 1200 series offers highest quality and an enormous range of finishers for more than 40 system configurations.”
Konica Minolta sees the bizhub PRO 1200 / bizhub 1051 as the end-to-end solution for production print professionals such as central reprographic departments, pay-for-print, commercial printers and even small data centres, who are seeking to expand their available range of business opportunities.
Thomas says that while the bizhub PRO 1051 delivers the same 105 page-per-minute output speed as its predecessor, Konica Minolta has increased the speed of the bizhub PRO 1200 to 120 pages per minute. The machines come standard equipped with the Linux operating system, which facilitates a writing resolution of 1200dpi, and a processing speed that is four to eight times faster than its predecessor. The bizhub PRO 1051 offers a monthly duty cycle 30 per cent higher than its predecessor, while the bizhub PRO 1200 has over twice the duty cycle.
He adds that the implementation of a new LED print head enables writing resolution to be increased from 600dpi to an impressive 1200dpi for more detailed half tones and smoother gradations. Other features include improvements in paper compatibility and finishing options, paper feeding, increased operability and advances in security and environmental performance.
