Byron Bassa, national production product manager for Konica Minolta Business Solutions New Zealand, says the printer is the first production unit ever tested to receive BLI’s five-star rating for colour consistency. He says, “No other model tested processed BLI’s 1.4-GB RIP job stream in less time. When printing jobs included a mix of heavy and lightweight or coated and uncoated media, the light-production printer was almost 40 per cent faster than the second-fastest competing device.”

For this test, the 71ppm colour production printer teamed up with the IC-306 EFI Fiery controller to print 33,121 impressions. For BLI’s 1.4-GB raster image process (RIP) job stream test, the bizhub Press C7000 output the seven single-page high resolution files in 82.31 seconds in 600dpi, supporting paper sizes up to 330 x 487mm, and duplexing on media weights up to 300gsm.

Bassa says, “We have an outstanding track record in BLI’s rigorous tests. Gaining first place at the first-ever BLI PRO Awards demonstrates that we have reached the next level in production printing for the quality of our systems and their reliability.”

He concludes, “We are now the defending champion in the light-production category.”
