The company has purchased Raven Print, a Canterbury business that was established approximately 70 years ago. Until it changed hands in February, it was owned by Noel and Val Saxton who are retiring.

Kalamazoo general manager, Hamish Anderson, who has overseen the company expansion, says they’ve taken on the majority of Raven’s staff and are currently moving the operation into their new 1200sm Ferrymead premises on the outskirts of Christchurch.

“We were looking at expansion in the Christchurch operation and with the acquisition of Raven Print, we will now be able to run two shifts a day with the increased capacity,” he says.

It will also allow us to launch into the label market and provide a manufacturing facility for the work in the south. Previously any work in continuous printing work in Christchurch had to be done at our Auckland plant.”

Raven Print comes with a Ryobi reel-to-reel press, a reel to pack press and a three-colour continuous machine and arrange of single and two colour Heidelberg’s and other finishing equipments .
