"They said to me 'if you think you are going to send this back then you're dreaming,' or words to that effect," laughs managing director Graeme Foote.

The programmable folder never left the premises and has subsequently been paid for.

After owning off-set printing company Fast Print for 15 years, Graeme has just recently established Hyper Print as a separate digital arm with the first new generation printer Canon ImagePress to be installed in Australasia.

While he had already looked at the Morgana Major folder first at Ipex than again at this year's Printex trade show in Sydney, he says it wasn't until they firmly established a need for a new folder that he made the decision to purchase one seriously.

"I did do a bit of research and of course I had already seen the Morgana in action at those two trade shows, but it was CPI's 'can do' attitude that really clinched the deal, especially when they offered to install one for us to try. The finishing staff really did say that to me, so that was it," he said.

Hyper Print has been established in Fast Print's Devon Road, Frankton premises for now, but at the present growth rate will need to look at moving to new premises in the near future.

Graeme says that while they have always offered some digital printing, this is the next step in their expansion plans for the medium sized printing company, which currently has a staff of 17.

"These new digital machines and the finishing technology that is now coming out produce top quality work. I've been in offset printing for 20 years and I believe combining both printing methods is the way to the future."
