Designed to offer a breakthrough combination of price and performance, the HP Designjet 8000s is a comprehensive and easy to use solution for traditional sign shops and screen printers who are looking to grow their businesses by expanding into outdoor signage markets.
The HP Designjet 8000s Printer series offers the best price-performance ratio to the market,” according to Kelly Tan, vice president, enterprise and specialty printing, Asia Pacific Hewlett-Packard.
The new series prints up to 1626 mm wide at speeds of 8.17 m2/hr with 720 x 720 dpi across a wide variety of applications.
It uses the in-the-box Onyx SignEZ v7.0 RIP which is a full-featured yet simple operating system, so that highly skilled operators are not required. It also has a heavy-duty platform with six piezo printheads and 500ml HP 780 ink cartridges, and high-value accessories like the HP Designjet 8000s Take-Up Reel Kit and HP Designjet High Speed Dryer.
This complete printing system is specially designed and tested to work together seamlessly to provide optimal print quality and durability on a range of applications.
The series also provides environmental health and safety assurances with a comprehensive EHS programme including the new HP Air Purification System designed to reduce workplace Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) now demanded in most production environments.
And the sophisticated low-solvent ink technology used in the HP Designjet 8000s, 9000s and 10000s features high concentrations of colorants creating rich, saturated colours for brilliant signs.
Designjet’s 8000s’ HP 780 inks resist fading for up to three years without lamination and are crack, smear, and scratch-resistant. Printing on HP’s low-cost media and eliminating the need for lamination provides further the savings, the company says.
