The new release includes an expanded line up of HP imaging and printing solutions as well as new services and software “to enrich the overall printing experience,” the company says.

Among the new products are two colour LaserJet and two Monochrome LaserJet Printers, five LaserJet All-In-Ones Printers, three OfficeJet Printers and four ScanJets, some of which have been designed specifically with customers from Asian markets such as China and India in mind.

The products are optimised for the large number of organisations in the region looking at deriving cost and productivity benefits by adopting in-house marketing solutions and multi-function products.

“HP is primed to continue to strengthen leadership in key Asia Pacific emerging markets by creating differentiated versions of our products,” says Margaret Ong, Vice President, HP Business Imaging and Printing Group, Asia Pacific/Japan.

“HP’s latest laser printer and laser All-in-Ones offerings deliver small and medium businesses printing and imaging resources at price and productivity levels that were traditionally only associated with large companies,” Ong adds.

HP, which according to IDC has a 53% market share in the colour laser market in Asia Pacific excluding Japan, is looking to enhance its leading position in the region with the introduction of this new range.

In the monochrome laser market in this region, HP has a market share that is five times more than the nearest competitor.

In China, HP plans to expand its sales and marketing activities for HP Indigo digital presses in the commercial print market with the help of Founder Group, China’s largest digital print and graphic arts solutions provider.

The alliance means that Founder will become a distributor of the HP Indigo press 1050, 3050 and 5000 to the commercial print market.

“HP plans to tap into Founder’s ready market of service providers and their established relationships within the commercial print segment to help increase HP market share in China,” says Stephen Nigro, senior vice president, graphics and imaging, HP.

“Leveraging HP Indigo technology with their easy-to-use digital front end solutions will enable Founder to further strengthen its foothold in the commercial printing segment.’

As the first stage of this new relationship, Founder will deploy the HP Indigo press 1050 bundled with its ElecRoc JDF-PDF workflow system in its EasiPrint digital printing franchises across China. HP and Founder will also collaborate in research and development of Digital Front End (DFE) solutions for the commercial printing industry globally.
