December will see the ANZ release of the Azon Mason UV LED flatbed hybrid, with supplier Graph-Pak calling it a a cost-effective wide format printer for small print shops and those looking to diversify their business.

Croatian manufacturer Azon says the printer handles a variety of substrates including standard display stocks as well as wood, canvas, ceramic tiles, and plastics. It prints onto substrates up to 100mm thick, with a maximum print area of 590x700mm.

Tom Ralph, managing director of Australian distributor Graph-Pak, calls it a versatile coming in at an affordable price for printers. He says, “It is ideal for signage, canvas, screen, pad and photography printers, and promotional products, as well as small digital and offset print shops and mum and dad home operators due to its entry-level pricing.

“It does not have much competition in the market in its price range, with its hybrid size and configuration offering many of bonus options.”

Azon says the Mason comes with four colours plus white printing in one pass at 1440dpi from a specially designed bulk ink tanks with an ink monitoring sensor to increase printing capacity.
