Fujifilm NZ is increasing the prices of its offset printing plates, citing substantial increases in the cost of raw aluminium used to make the plates.
The rise will be up to 10 per cent across its range, the date of the increase has not yet been revealed.
The company says, “As a result of substantial increases in the cost of raw aluminium, it will be increasing the prices of its offset printing plates by up to 10 per cent.
“The last 12-months have seen significant increases in the cost of raw aluminium prices. Fujifilm has been absorbing these increases by improving production efficiencies, whilst trying to ensure any of these changes do not affect service to their valued customers however these process improvements have not been sufficient to avoid this action.
“Fujifilm NZ understands the difficulties in the market and the constraints on businesses, but hopes that customers appreciate this price increase is now unavoidable.”
Kodak also announced a plate price increase in September.
