While new packaging technology will again tip the balance, this year there is an increased presence of developments in food technology.
A key attraction on each day of the show will be seminars run by the Packaging Council of New Zealand (Inc).

Deb Statham of PCNZ says Foodtech Packtech is a forum in which the Packaging Council can promote the philosophy and objectives of the New Zealand Packaging Accord 2004 and the industry commitment to reduce waste to landfill.

“This voluntary agreement affects all involved with packaging from brand owners and retailers through to manufacturers. The Packaging Council is proud to be involved and endorses the event”.
Packaging Council members again receive a 5% rebate on their stand space.

Visitors will enjoy the convenience of having eight industry associations exhibiting together in the foyer between halls 4 and 5. These associations are: PCNZ, Steel Can Association of NZ, Plastics NZ, Food & Grocery Council, NZ Paperboard Packaging Association, Glass Packaging Forum, Environmental Beverage Action Group and NZ Retailers Association.
Plastics New Zealand will hold their Awards dinner on the Friday before the show (13 October). The Awards will be displayed at Foodtech Packtech.

Innovation Awards from The New Zealand Institute of Packaging will again be presented at Foodtech Packtech.

Highlights will include the New Zealand launch of the rugged Weber 2600 Series printer applicator by Peacock Bros NZ Ltd Label Systems. This machine is a new, highly efficient version of the larger Weber 5200.

Also shown for the first time by Tronics, will be the low-maintenance Videojet DataFlex thermal transfer overprinter which codes on to plastics. This machine features an intuitive touch screen, 1000 m ribbon capacity and clutchless servomotor ribbon drive.
