Lind, who is relatively new to printing, joined Fintech last year.

He has been involved in the export food sector and was previously on the board of the New Zealand Food and Beverage Exporters Council, which represented approximately 95 per cent of this country's food exporters.

While Lind says he is still familiarising himself with the printing industry and its requirements, he believes his experience in representing the issues of food exporters to Government will be helpful to PrintNZ which like other bodies does a good job representing the needs of its members.

"I've always had the philosophy that whatever industry you are involved in you should endeavour to put something back, and participating in an industry body is one way of doing that," he says.

"The printing industry has a very different set of needs and issues to that of the food industry. It is an industry with a high skilled labour cost and a high capital cost of equipment and the viability of its businesses depend on getting the balance right between the two."
