Epson has launched its new high speed large format range featuring the SureColor SC-P10070 and SureColor SC-P20070, which it says can at up to 105 sqm/hr.

Epson has targeted the new printers at commercial printers, professional photographers, fine art and print service providers. Applications include large format poster, in-store signage, photo reproduction and display graphics.

The company says a number of SureColor’s added features will deliver a fast, cost-effective and limited wastage production platform.

The printers will use Epson’s PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead technology, combined with the new UltraChrome Pro ink set. The new head has an inbuilt sensing system, called Nozzle Verification Technology, which can detect nozzle blockages automatically without the need to eject ink.

The printhead also comes with Matte and Photo Black channels, which the company says allow a fast interchange with zero ink loss.

Epson says the SureColor’s added media management system enables high production speeds with superior print quality by tracking media as it moves through the printers feed and pressure rollers, which Epson says ensure consistent linearity.

Craig Heckenberg, business division general manager for Epson Australia,  says, “A lot of work went into the SC-P10070 and SC-P20070. These new machines not only deliver increased productivity, but superior print quality, and a reduced running cost. They are truly ground breaking machines and provide a formidable offering for the production print market.
