PrintNZ has announced the dates for its employment law seminars.
The seminars will roll out from May 2, running the length of the country from Whangarei to Invercargill. Ruth Cobb, general manager, PrintNZ, says, “There are changes proposed to existing employment law that could have a serious impact on your business. The seminars will provide details of the major changes and what they might mean for you – including the following:
- 90 day trial periods
- Reinstatement of dismissed workers
- Restoration of statutory meal breaks
- Triangular employment relationships (temps/labour hire)
- Removal of exclusion to vulnerable workers in small businesses
- Rights of union to enter a workplace
- Requirement to conclude collective bargaining
- 30 day rule requiring collective agreement to cover all new employees
- Requirement to be part of a Multi-Employer Collective Agreement
- Paid time off for union delegates
- Industry Awards
