PMP New Zealand managing director Simon Ellis has walked away with the inaugural New Zealand Printer Power 50.

The event took place last week at Auckland’s Maritime Museum under the auspices of New Zealand Printer magazine with sponsors Canon, Konica Minolta, and Ricoh.

Simon Ellis has a lengthy print resume and has plans to take the country’s largest commercial print operation to a new level next year with the introduction of more press power and new information technology.

In second place, Matt Mills, general manager at Fuzed, has taken his company from a copy centre to a one stop digital operation.

At number three, Dave Atkins, whose vision has changed Image Centre Group into one of the country’s top multi-media companies, with print at its centre.

Jonny Broderick took out fourth spot after taking over the running of the family business this year and stamping his own imprimatur.

Ruth Cobb, general manager of PrintNZ, grabbed the fifth spot, reaching the end of a busy year advocating for print in New Zealand.

Coming close to the top five were Lawrence Evans of printing.com; Fred Soar from Soar Print; Crucial Colour’s Gary Furness, Sue Archibald from Pride In Print; and Aidan Bennett from Benefitz.

Bruce Craig, editor of New Zealand Printer magazine says, “We congratulate everyone in the 2017 Power 50, people we who take this industry forward on a daily basis.
