EFI has announced enhancements to its label solutions including its Jetrion digital inkjet label presses and packaging and label software.
The announcement came at this week’s Labelexpo Americas show. Stephen Emery, vice president and general manager of EFI Jetrion, says, “This year’s Labelexpo comes as EFI reaches the 10-year anniversary of our acquisition of the Jetrion business, and it has been a decade that has seen marked growth for customers with the industry’s leading line of digital inkjet label presses.”
The company has shown its 4950LXe LED inkjet narrow-web press with white ink, driven by EFI Fiery software for digital label production and its Packaging Suite software.
The new Jetrion 4950LXe LED inkjet narrow-web inkjet label press uses new low-migration ink for non-food-contact surface production and offers a 720×1260 dpi resolution, increased durability and gloss level control. EFI has the printer’s media compatibility profiles for a broader range of labelstocks, including Avery Dennison substrates used for durable labels and wine applications.
EFI says its optional in-line finishing equipment makes Jetrion one of the only digital press brands that enables users to take in blank substrate rolls on one end and receive complete, die-cut, slit and backscored rolls at the other.
The new version 4.1 of the EFI Packaging Suite includes certified workflows that combine the core EFI Radius ERP software with modular, integrated components from EFI’s portfolio, as well as with key third-party technologies, such as Esko’s Automation Engine.
One of the components in the Suite, the new Auto-Count 4D shop floor production intelligence platform automatically collects accurate, up-to-the minute production data including counts, press status, speed and other critical information directly from production equipment in real-time. EFI says that full plant visibility and data-driven reporting now in a browser based environment gives packaging printers all of the information they need to make decisions in seconds.
Other new Packaging Suite workflow enhancements include:
Intelligent estimating and planning with EFI iQuote software;
Automated planning optimization with EFI Metrix software;
Centralised, role-based productivity widgets with the Suite’s Productivity Workbench.
