Digital press manufacturer Durst has announced that it will highlight the new eight-colour Tau 330 RSC label press at Labelexpo in September.

Fuji Xerox New Zealand supplies Durst equipment locally.

The new Tau 330 RSC, a UV inkjet label and package printing press, offers a 330mm print width and prints at 78 linear meters per minute at a resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi, giving it a production capacity of 1485sqm/hr.

Offered as a stand-alone version, or combined with the in-line digital laser die cutting LFS 330, the Tau 330 RSC has eight colour station: CMYK+W+OVG, using new designed high pigmented inks. Durst claims outstanding, flexo look-like print quality with close to 98 per cent Pantone colour gamut coverage.

At Labelexpo, Durst will run the Tau 330 RSC with Omet’s Xflex series of conventional finishing options. Configuration options include a jumbo unwinder and material pre-treatment options such as inline corona, web cleaner, and priming. Post press options include varnishing, cold foil, lamination, die-cutting, slitting and rewinding.

Durst will also showcase its flagship Tau 330 press, using low migration ink for primary food and pharma packaging. Also on show, the entry model Tau 330E, which uses specially developed high pigmented UV inkjet inks. It will run as a complete solution with a converting and finishing system.

In software, Durst will launch its new Web2Print solution for online design, preview and ordering packaging products, labels, folding carton, and other products. It will also show its workflow-label application suite, a modular, expandable prepress software for order entry, pre-press, RIP, colour management, ink-costing and production data management. Visitors can see demonstrations of the entire digital production work-flow from online ordering, data processing, digital printing, and finishing.

Helmuth Munter, segment manager for Durst Label and Package Printing, says, “We are very excited to demonstrate our broad range of digital printing and workflow solutions to Labelexpo visitors, and we are sure that especially the new Tau 330 RSC with its unmatched printing speed and printing quality will be the highlight at our booth and create a high level of interest among label converters that are looking for an industrial scale digital press solution.”
