Since 2003, Duplo International’s turnover has increased by over 28 per cent to GBP30m for the financial year 2005-6.
Robin Greenhalgh, chief executive officer of Duplo International says it is a big achievement for Duplo during a challenging time for the industry.
“We have enjoyed growth throughout our operating subsidiaries in the UK, France, Italy and Poland and have seen business increase through our direct sales force and our dealers and digital press partners. Our aim is to continue to build on this success to increase our presence and market share in these territories to reach our goal of becoming a GBP40m turnover company by 2008,” he says.
In New Zealand, Dupolo products are sold by New Zealand-owned family business TS Wilson Jnr Ltd.
During the year, Duplo International introduced two new high end products, including the DF-1000 suction folder for digital colour print finishing and the Dubinder, Duplo’s first high production, fully automatic, single-clamp perfect binder. The Dubinder is claimed to be capable of handling up to 500 books per hour.
In addition, Ipex 2006 generated on-stand sales orders of over GBP1.3m and gave Duplo the opportunity to show for the first time in Europe its JDF/ UP3i compatible DC-645 production colour finisher driven by Symbio workflow.
The UK division of Duplo International was also given a significant boost with the exclusive distribution rights to the Ideal and Eurofold Range of finishing systems, adding guillotines and folders to its range of collators, bookletmakers, digital finishing and binding products.
Robin Greenhalgh says Duplo’s philosophy is to provide customers with a range of finishing products and services that will deliver flexibility in the workplace, reliability and added value to their businesses.
