Organisers have brought the dates forward for drupa 2020, meaning the show will take place from Tuesday June 16 until Friday June 26,
The drupa committee and Messe Düsseldorf held a meeting on Feburuary 15. They says the key argument for the decision to change the dates came from the fact that, in some European countries as well as German states, the summerholidays would have already started during the initially planned dates.
Messe Düsseldorf says that, by changing the dates, it is responding to requests voiced by both exhibitors and visitors. Explaining the move, Werner Dornscheidt, president and chief executive at of MesseDüsseldorf, says, “When we decided to stick to the four-year cycle of drupa in consultation with the leading representatives of the industry duringdrupa 2016, the majority of holiday dates had not been published yet.
“Now we are really pleased that we can offer thissolution although there is hardly any room for manoeuvre in the packedtrade fair year of 2020. The fact that we agreed on a more compactstand construction period also contributes to holding the entire trade fairin June. And we are delighted to be able to act in our customers’ interestby kicking off one week earlier than originally planned.”
