Koenig & Bauer has developed a new cutter for gravure presses.
High-performance European gravure printer BurdaDruck has invested in this new development and will install the new cutter later this year. Heiko Engelhardt, managing director at BurdaDruck, says, “The concept of expanding the cutter convinced us right from the start.
“As Koenig & Bauer also offers many other services for gravure presses and has extensive know-how in this field, we are convinced that we have the right partner at our side.”
The installation will form part of a retrofit to the existing press fleet at the Burda printing site in Vieux-Thann, France. Ingo Raab, sales manager at BurdaDruck, says, “This investment enables us to offer our customers an even larger product portfolio in the future. We can also produce small volumes from eight pages, glued with a two-page jump.
“The format variability of gravure printing enables considerable savings in paper consumption through optimum formats, which is a major requirement of our customers as paper prices are increasing.”
