Robert McClements, managing director of UK company Grange Consulting, backgrounds his reputation as an international negotiator with experience gained in a broad range of print companies in screen printing, lithography and newspapers. As a keynote speaker at last week’s PrintNZ centenary conference, he explained how successful printing companies can find profitability.

Ruth Cobb, membership services manager at Print NZ, says, “This is a practical course for those who buy and those who sell. It’s for those who are involved in partnering arrangements, for anyone who wants to ensure they get the best deal available.

“Skilled negotiators give their organisations a vital edge, not just in securing good deals, but in maintaining relationships with other powerful parties with whom they must deal.”

McClements says he started negotiating at the age of five, selling apples in the playground. His clients have included RR Donnelly Printing, the Royal Bank of Scotland and the BBC, and his international negotiations have taken him across Europe and into the Middle East.

The daylong course takes place on October 30 in Auckland. Cobb says places are limited so anyone interested should contact her on 027 248904 or email ruth.cobb@printnz.co.nz
