The Lemanic Delta was shown at the Tobacco Asia Expo in Hong Kong this month and the new press line is a sister to the Bobst Lemanic Riviera that was introduced at Drupa 2004.

Bobst says the Lemanic Delta will provide offset printers with an opportunity to differentiate themselves in the market by selling gravure quality. It is designed to increase quality while providing a flexible system which reduces the cost of finished cartons.

Using the in-line process, the Lemanic Delta starts from reels of board, which are printed in multiple colours and converted with either an in-line rotary die-cutting for long run lengths of standard carton sizes, or in-line sheeting for high added-value applications of shorter run lengths. In each case, cartons are delivered in finished stacks, all with automatic defect detection.

Bobst says the Lemanic Delta fits with its philosophy of providing a fully integrated printing and converting line from one supplier.
