Bobst says the Polyjoiner module set a new standard in folding compact corrugated cartooning with its flexibility when it was first released. Now it can fold composite boxes, two part display boxes, reinforced detergent boxes, and boxes with one or two compartments, in addition to its original capabilities.

The module works by carrying out processes perpendicular to the running direction of the carton economically producing boxes with dimensions beyond that normally possible on the gluer.

With its feeder and assembly section, the Polyjoiner makes it possible, subject to version, to simultaneously feed two or three blanks to either join blanks, superimpose blanks, incorporate one or two inserts or align blanks.

Now the module’s two options make it possible to further increase productivity by duplicating the front and side stops allowing the simultaneous introduction and assembly of two blanks and in the three track version, a set of transverse rails allows the side displacement of the module, allowing wider blanks to be processed in two track mode.

Bobst says the Polyjoiner module does not inhibit the running of standard boxes through the machine because it can also be used as an Accufeed unit – being made up of a feeder introduction unit and a side alignment section.

“The operation of the module is easy, adjustments are simple to make, functions are managed using a touch screen and the operator has excellent visibility over all the moving elements,” a spokesman says.

The module can be integrated into the Pacific 1.7, 2.3, 3.0 and the Alpina 145 II, 110 and 130.
