During the next few months Baldwin says major newspaper installations will take place in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand and Australia.

Baldwin’s product and technology portfolio has been expanded significantly increased following  the recent acquisition of Oxy-Dry, resulting in an unrivalled  range of press controls and accessory technologies for  newspaper and commercial web offset printers as well as for  sheet-fed companies, Balwin adds.

Peter Tkachuk, managing director of Baldwin Graphic Equipment adds:  “There is no doubt that the extent and scope of BaldwinË™s product range today enables us  to provide customers with a choice that is unique in the worldwide market of press controls and accessories.

“It’s a very exciting period for the team here in the Asia-Pacific region. We can now provide support from our offices in Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong and can match virtually any press control requirement from a customer, whether they need a particular technology because of historical reasons, they want to be more environmentally-friendly or they need to improve print quality and productivity.”

He estimates that the recent acquisition of Oxy-Dry has given the company a significant  portion of the Asia-Pacific newspaper and commercial web offset sectors. Customers have the opportunity of a “one stop shop” for industry-leading press ancillary  technologies, some of which used to be competing, Tkachuk says.

“This (acquisition) now provides them with greater options for cross integration of systems and the ability to upgrade presses for lower costs.”
