The Japanese order kick-starts Baldwin’s new fiscal year and is one of the biggest the company has ever received.

It is for Baldwin’s high performance SD-H spray dampening systems and Impact SW blanket cleaning systems, which will be fitted on the newspaper presses used for the Nikkei Group’s Japan Economic Journal.

The systems are designed to improve print quality, reduce start-up waste and deliver major savings in water and ink consumption.

Baldwin president Karl S. Puehringer says the order from the Nikkei Group is one of the largest in the company’s history.

“It’s a great start to our new fiscal year, and continues the long-term relationship Baldwin has had with the Nikkei Group. We are pleased that a leading name in the Japanese newspaper market such as the Japan Economic Journal will gain the benefits of Baldwin’s technology for its customers,” he says.
