Avery MPI 1004 Easy Apply is for curved and corrugated surfaces and Avery MPI 2004 Easy is for flat surfaces.

MPI 1004 is a 50micron gloss white cast vinyl suitable for indoors and outdoors, while providing high conformability over most surfaces including compound curves, corrugations, and rivets.

MPI 2004 is an 80micron gloss white calendared vinyl for flat or slightly curved surfaces, designed to be used for vehicle graphics, signage and medium-term outdoor advertising.

Both are optimised for printing on wide-format and super-wide-format inkjet printers with solvent, mild/eco-solvent and UV-curable inks.

Both constructions use Avery’s Easy Apply technology which facilitates smooth decal application without air bubbles (these can be rubbed away without the need to pierce the film).

It combines a permanent, low-tack, repositionable adhesive with a grey-pigmented coating to give added facefilm opacity and clean, long-term removeability, says the company.

Avery believes that the combination of features means that applicators can achieve precise results in a short time. Film can be removed without leaving any adhesive residue at the end of their life.

Additionally, Avery MPI 1004 Easy Apply is fully-compatible with the new Avery DOL 1030 3D-Laminate, which is recommended for surface protection of
the printed graphics.

Bryan Westgeest, Avery Dennison Graphics’ product manager for digital printing, says Avery’s DOL 1030 3D-Laminate sits like a thin skin over the
printed substrate and aids handling and application, especially over curves and corrugations.

Initial reactions from the industry to this newly-launched over-laminating film have been very enthusiastic, particularly as it does away with the
need to use costly liquid lamination, Westgeest claims.

“These products make them the ideal digital films for digital printers who want to be able to respond to customers’ needs quickly and with high-quality results at every level. They are easy to print with an extensive colour gamut at high print speed.”
